They just...don't...listen!!!

I ran up on a comment from another registered Republican anent MeetTheBloggers (MTB), and it had to do with the paucity of Republican candidates being interviewed on MTB this past year or so. Our source attributes it to certain Republican candidates' collective perception that the MTBers are a gang of flaming liberals whose intent it is to "make Republicans look bad, " or words to that effect. To me, this is an indication that these Republicans aren't listening to the podcasts at all, and, to paraphrase an older, cruder joke, the reason some people get beaten is because they just...don't...listen.

    Do we really beat up on anybody? I mean - they're just questions for crying out loud.

    I'd say we've been pretty congenial overall--after all, they're our guests, and we're just trying to help them appear in the best light possible, for the benefit of the public. People beat or defeat themselves, for the most part, pretty much on their own. On MTB, they become known to the public by their works and their demeanor. Most of our interviewees have had a lot to offer and have been fairly interesting.

    Of those who have chosen not to appear, I think it's because some can't bear too much scrutiny. With others, there's just not a whole lot going on. The ones who think they might look bad probably know themselve pretty well, and they're putting it off on MTB.

    A true leader can certainly take a group of citizen bloggers in stride, and benefit from it.
