The man accused of trying to kill his grandmother for her prescription medicine has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated robbery.

Richard Wells, 20, was arrested Monday after he stabbed his grandmother, Helen Colvin, 59, in the face with a knife while she laid on her couch, according to a police report.
As Wells stabbed Colvin, he screamed: "Give me the pills Grandma," the report said.

Colvin blocked the knife many times, but she decided to give Wells the pills, which were in a sock tied to her underwear underneath her pajamas. Wells apologized to his grandmother after he got the pills, the report said.

Wells then stabbed Colvin one more time in the hand as she got up from the couch. He then admitted to police hat he cut her phone line so she could not call the police, the report said.

Colvin needed surgery on her hands and stitches to her face, the report said.

Wells told police that he uses cocaine. He said he was wrong for stabbing his grandmother and wouldn't be surprised if he received the death penalty, the report said.

DIME: dense inert metal explosives

CRIMES AND CORRUPTIONS OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER NEWS: Israelis target Palestinians with weapons causing 'burns ... by heat so intense that many cases have required amputation': Here's a link sent to us by an expatriate friend who's spent his life since college in Bangkok. From a unique perspective, he scours the world news looking for evidence of injustice, lies, and political treachery, and here's one of his latest findings, something new to me, something that seems particularly reprehensible: DIME.
"This technology is one of a new range of 'low collateral damage' or LCD weapons designed to minimise the damage to nearby property, by confining its increased lethal effects to a restricted space. So it is 'ideal for densely populated areas' and 'helping the warfighter to prevent the loss of public support,' according to its enthusiastic proponents."

doggie dinner

Make your own bulgogi at home - Slashfood--When I worked for the US occupation/expeditionary forces over in Korea in the early '70s, the goon chiefs (village officials) once invited us Ugly Americans downtown, brought in the dancing girls, got us all cranked up on beer and rice wine, and fed us the greatest bulgogi, but then told us in the middle of the meal that our marinated feast was dog-based, not beef-based. Some of my compatriots blew chunks; others smiled wryly and put down their chopsticks; I called their bluff and asked for more. It's all in the marinade and the tenderizing.

Now, where in the Cleveland area can we score some kimchee/kimchi that doesn't have all sorts of salt and MSG in it as preservative? All the stuff we see in the stores around here comes out of Chicago or New York and has way too much in the way of additives and preservatives. Kimchee is one of the best accompaniments to bulgogi, and both of them together will keep you well all winter.
